Don't Call Me Shirley is the fourteenth issue of the series.
Samus repeatedely uses the phrase "surely you can't be serious?" in sentences. Each time she does, Oveur says "I am serious, and don't call me Shirley". Ridley also does this when speaking to his legions of Space Pirates, who he tells to go kill Samus and Oveur. They manage to destroy the Pirates. Oveur starts to tell her that he did some research when Samus yells "What's that?". Oveur tells her what research is and that the definition isn't important right now, but realises she was actually pointing at a large rock creature called Thardus.
- The surely/Shirley mix ups and the defining of a word, followed by saying "But that's not important right now" are both famous lines from Airplane! and Airplane II: The Sequel.
